Today, I would love to talk about a person who is often on the news that I would like to meet one day. It is Lily Collins, who is a famous British actress and model.  

T – TIME

(WHEN)

If I remember rightly, the first time I knew about her was over 10 years ago. At that time, as a self-reward for my hard work on studying, I decided to go to the cinema to catch a flick of the latest movie called Love, Rosie. In that movie, Lily played the leading female role in the movie.

I – IMPRESSION

(HOW)

To be honest, at first, when I watched Love, Rosie. I wasn’t really impressed by her acting ability. However, after watching a few more films of hers, I gradually came to realize that this young girl was actually very talented and I’ve become her huge fan since then. 

M – MAIN

(WHAT)

At the beginning of her career, Lily faced a lot of difficulties and encountered a huge number of obstacles as her family didn’t want her to follow her dream path. She had to struggle a lot and suffered from great stress to prove herself to her family and decided not to give up. 

After years of relentless efforts, she has finally risen to stardom and become a successful actress favored by millions of people around the world. 

Lily is definitely a source of inspiration and a role model for the youth to pursue their acting career. 

E – EXPLANATION

(WHY)

As for why I want to meet her one day, well, I really admire her talent, beauty and what she has achieved in the film industry. I think I can draw many meaningful lessons about determination from her personality. I really hope that I can have a chance to see her in person to take a photo, or if possible, talk to her and know a bit more about her life.

Today, I would love to talk about a gift that took a long time to prepare. It is a hand-made scarf for my dearest sister.

T – TIME

(WHEN)

If my memory serves me right, the time I gave her the present was two years ago when she passed the university exam with flying colors. That was why I decided to surprise him with a special gift and make the celebration more special and memorable.

I – IMPRESSION

(HOW)

At first, it appeared to be quite difficult to do since I’ve never considered myself as a person who has a knack for knitting. However, after spending a few days going online to see the way to make it, I came to realise that it was much more interesting and easier to learn than I initially thought.

M – MAIN

(WHAT)

First, I went to a shop specialized in selling necessary materials for making hand-made scarf to buy some yarns, and knitting needles. 

Actually it was quite hard to choose the color in the first place because I was not sure which colour would suit my sister best. But finally, I decided to pick the light blue one, which is also my sister’s favourite shade. 

After gathering all needed materials, I started to spend days and nights finishing this scarf with the hope that my sister would love it. 

It actually took me 2 weeks to complete this hand-made

item and I was totally satisfied with the results.

E – EXPLANATION

(WHY)

As for why I wanted to spend time making the scarf, well, my sister did try her best in the exam and I hope that the scarf would be an encouragement for him to thrive more in the future.

Last but not least, this scarf really helps us to strengthen our family bond.

INTRO

Today I would like to talk about a building I remember well that is full of colors. It is Vincom Shopping Mall, which is located in the heart of Ho Chi Minh city.

T – TIME

(WHEN)

If I remember correctly, the first time I went to that place was a couple of months ago when I was a newcomer in my company. At that time, I was terribly busy in my heavy workloads. That was why a colleague of mine recommended that I should pay a visit to the shopping centre which was newly built in my area to relieve stress a bit.

I – IMPRESSION

(HOW)

At first, I was not really interested in visiting that mall because actually I hate crowded places. However, when I first went there with my friend, I did change my mind because I was immediately taken aback by how enormous it was.  Right at that moment, I knew that I had to explore this place more. 

M – MAIN

(WHAT)

On the outside, the mall is all painted in white and light grey and there are greenery and flowers around the area, which creates a sense of freshness for the building. The architecture is heavily influenced by a modern style. The construction also has a lot of glasses which can turn into many different vibrant colours. And when the sun goes down, the dynamic lighting system adds much charm to the building.

Talking about the inside of the building, the mall is beautifully designed with woody interior furniture, and state-of-the-art facilities. It has four floors and one basement with an incredible car parking capacity. All of these things create a cosy and comfortable atmosphere for visitors to spend their leisure time wandering around and shopping

E – EXPLANATION

(WHY)

As for why I remember this building so well, this is because I was so impressed by its design with multiple colors. Besides, the structure gives people a precious feeling of connection to nature, especially in this concrete jungle and a place for them to unwind and ease their mind after stressful hours at work.

INTRO

Today, I would love to talk about an occasion when my trip was delayed by the weather. It was when I travelled to Thailand and the

memories are still very vivid in my mind right now.

T – TIME

(WHEN)

If I remember rightly, it was at the end of last year when my brother’s application for a scholarship to Singapore was officially accepted. Studying abroad has always been his dream so my family was very happy for him. That was why my mother suggested the idea that all of us should make a trip to Thailand as a way to celebrate his achievement.

I – IMPRESSION

(HOW)

At first, it appeared to be a delightful and pleasant trip as I and my brother made a very detailed plan about the journey including booking tickets, hotel rooms, activities for family and some tourist attractions. However, I came to realise that it was actually much more disastrous than I initially thought.

M – MAIN

(WHAT)

In the beginning, we went to the airport real early in the morning. When we got to the place, an urgent announcement came to us that

our flight would be postponed due to a sudden thunderstorm.

So we must wait at the lounge 8 hours more before boarding. Frankly speaking, for me, it wasn’t that bad as I could surf the Internet to make the most out of my spare time. But I couldn’t stand seeing my parents getting tired during such a long period of waiting time. 

And when the flying agent came to announce the flight time, that moment truly brightened up our day. 

E – EXPLANATION

(WHY)

As for what I felt, well, you know my family members are terribly busy with their schedules so it’s like a real challenge to have all of us gathering around to celebrate my brother’s success.

Actually, we did eventually manage to visit Thailand, which was a great and memorable experience for all of us to strengthen our bond.
