Bài thi IELTS Writing Task 2 thường yêu cầu thí sinh trình bày quan điểm của bản thân về những vấn đề xã hội về đa dạng những chủ đề khác nhau. Nhằm giúp cho bài viết có được sự lập luận chặt chẽ cũng như logic, trong quá trình viết bài, thí sinh thường phải đưa ra những quan điểm của bản thân về một đối tượng (có thể là người hoặc vật).

Lưu ý: Sau From my point of view/From my perspective/From my (personal) standpoint,… tuyệt đối KHÔNG đi kèm “I think/believe/…”, vì bản thân chúng đã mang nghĩa trình bày quan điểm cá nhân rồi".

Topic: In the past, people stored knowledge in books. Nowadays, people store knowledge on the internet. Do the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages?

The Internet has largely replaced books to preserve an enormous amount of human knowledge. From my personal standpoint, the merits of this trend eclipsed the drawbacks.

It is irrefutable that online materials offer readers noticeable advantages. One of the greatest benefits of digital information is that it can be accessed at any time and from any location. To illustrate, students no longer have to spend hours visiting multiple stores to purchase books because a few seconds of clicking now can address all their problems. Equally important, E-books are definitely more cost-effective than paper ones, which is highly beneficial to readers as they will be able to access a wealth of valuable knowledge without spending a fortune. Another argument in favor of preserving information on the web is that the content is offered in a variety of formats, such as photos, podcasts, and videos. This implies that they cater to different types of learners, namely visual and auditory ones. 

However, admittedly, the effects of storing information online are not all positive.  First, constantly using digital devices is likely to cause physical problems such as eye impairment and even memory loss. Besides, the lack of information reliability since online materials can be provided by anonymous authors supposedly results in fake news and encourages plagiarism.

In the light of the aforementioned analysis, I subscribe to the opinion that online knowledge is more easily accessible, economical, and well-suited to various learners than the traditional one. Although the negative impact on human well-being and the inadequacy of information trustworthiness are alarming problems that individuals should be aware of, I firmly concur with the view that preserving knowledge on the Internet should be given precedence over paper books due to their numerous upsides.
