Đề bài: Some people want governments to spend money looking for life on other planets. Others, however, think this is a waste of public money when there are so many problems on earth. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

While many people believe that governments should allocate funds for discovering extraterrestrial life, others argue that such expenditure costs money, considering the issues on our own planet. Although there are many potential benefits of exploration, I lean towards the second opinion.

On the one hand, space exploration can bring good preparation for potential threats. Nowadays, people are facing climate changes and do not know what will happen in the future. Understanding the extraterrestrial environments can prepare us for threats  from space, such as asteroids or harmful cosmic events. Additionally, the discovery of life on other planets proves the scientific advancement and knowledge. Exploring other planets can lead to significant scientific breakthroughs, enhancing our understanding of the universe and potentially leading to technological innovations. For example, thanks to these advancements, people can predict the natural phenomena in the future and give some solutions to deal with these bad phenomena.

On the other hand, allocating funds to space exploration is not justifiable. Governments must handle the urgent issues such as poverty, education and healthcare systems because space exploration is extremely expensive. Governments allocate funds for modern technologies and provide equipment for explorers. Besides, space exploration is a waste of time, so this requires a lot of money for additional expenses for explorers like food and accommodation. Furthermore, the search for extraterrestrial life is highly speculative with no guaranteed results. This potentially leads to wasteful expenditure.

In conclusion, while the search for life on other planets has many advantages, I maintain that addressing the urgent issues on Earth should be prioritized.
