Families who send their children to private schools should not be required to pay taxes that support the state education system. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Some people believe that parents who have their children attend private schools should not need to contribute to state schools through taxes. Personally, although there are several reasons for people who choose private schools, I believe people should be willing to contribute to state schools.

People who send their children to private schools may have some compelling reasons to argue. To begin with, they are already paying tuition fees which go directly towards funding their children's education. Therefore, they may argue that it is unfair to require them to pay additional fees which contribute to the state education system, putting a burden on their shoulder as they have to pay for 2 types of fees. Moreover, having children enrolled in private schools may reduce the strain on the already underfunded public education system. As a result, there are more students who specifically need financial support are invested.

However, for a variety of reasons, I believe it would be wrong to reduce taxes for families who pay for private education. Firstly, funding the state education system through taxes is considered the responsibility of everyone in a country to ensure every student has a good quality education. If governments exempt families who send their children to private schools, the national budget for education will be significantly reduced, leading to a low-quality education system. Moreover, we all have to pay a certain amount of taxes for public services that we may not use. For example, there are many people who are fortunate enough not to have a call to the police or brigade, but they would never expect a tax reduction for this.

In conclusion, even though reducing taxes for people who have their children attend private schools may be reasonable to some extent, I believe people should be happy to pay taxes that contribute to improving the overall national education level as it is the responsibility of citizens in a country.
