Dàn ý cách trả lời IELTS Speaking Part 2 và từ vựng theo chủ đề

Trước tiên, người đọc nên tập trung vào những câu hỏi gợi ý trong đề bài để định hướng câu trả lời trong Part 2:

• I’d like to talk about not only a singular law, but rather like a set of regulations to protect the environment which is implemented in Singapore, one of the most developed country in South East Asia.

• So I’ve never been to Singapore, but for many people who have, they said that the biggest impression they had about this country is its impeccable cleanliness. And to achieve that, the Singaporean government has shown an unforgiving attitude towards all sorts of behaviors that could pollute the environment.

What it is

Singapore has imposed heavy punishments on even the smallest things like using chewing gum, littering or smoking.

• If I remember correctly, the first time someone throws small things like a candy wrap, they will face a hefty fine of $200, which is brutal!

• The amount is even higher for those who illegally import chewing gum, which can reach up to 1000$ for first-time offenders.

• Singapore even implements oddly specific rules like no Durian on public transport, but since I think they have more to do with public etiquette rather than environmental protection, I don’t want to discuss them any further.

Why it is justified

• I must say that even though some of the punishments are a bit too harsh, I totally agree with the Singaporean government on this matter, especially about their attitude towards smoking.

• I mean there’s absolutely no excuse for such an unacceptable behavior. When you throw away a plastic bag because you’re in a hurry, it doesn’t cause any immediate harm to nearby people. You can undo your mistake by picking it up and shoving it to the nearest trash can. But when you smoke in public, the damage has been done. There’s nothing you can do about it.

• Yes, I know. Life is hard. Even more so for weak and selfish people. But just because you want an easy escape from your problems (and contracting lung cancer in the process), it doesn’t mean other people have to suffer from your lack of self-control. Once you have the audacity to put others’ health at risk, you deserve the worst possible punishments.

How you feel about this law

I think had it not been for their decisiveness in terms of taking vigorous actions to protect the environment, Singapore wouldn’t be able to create such a long-lasting and positive impression on foreign visitors like it does today. I hope that in the future, more and more countries will start to follow suit, so that together, we’ll be able to protect our mother nature from further damage.
