Major cities in the world are growing fast, as well as their problems. What are the problems that young people living in those cities are facing?  Suggest some solutions.

Big cities around the world are having many problems due to their rapid expansion. I will discuss several problems that young people in large cities are facing and give some potential solutions to these issues in the following essay.

The rapid population growth in major cities has led to two serious problems for the youth. To begin with, the cost of living in big cities is considerably rising to live in, and almost the young are struggling to cope with this issue. For example, many young people are students living in poor families, or recent graduates with low-paying jobs, so they cannot afford the high costs of housing, transport and food. Besides, mental health is another big issue that many young people are dealing with in large cities. In fact, students need to cope with overwhelming study schedules, while recent graduates struggle to compete with one another to get promotion in their career and have a stable finance to take care of their family. These situations create a lot of stress on young people and can lead to serious mental health problems.

There are two possible solutions to the above mentioned issues. Firstly, governments should move universities out of large cities into smaller cities where the cost of living is much more affordable. This will also help to reduce the demand for housing in large cities and make it more affordable for recent graduates and others with a low salary. Secondly, governments need to promote a culture where young people regularly take part in stress-relieving activities, and create an awareness of mental health issues amongst the young before they develop serious problems such as anxiety, depression and suicidal tendencies.

In conclusion, although young people are facing many problems when living in large cities, there are still several feasible solutions mentioned above to solve these issues.
