Tóm tắt lý thuyết so sánh nhất trong tiếng Anh

Khái niệm

So sánh nhất (superlative) được dùng để mô tả chất lượng cao nhất của một một người hoặc vật khi so sánh với hai hay nhiều đối tượng khác.

Ví dụ: Hoa is the smartest student in the school. (Hoa là học sinh thông minh nhất trong trường)

Tính từ “smart” chuyển thành “smartest” để mô tả rằng Hoa là thông minh nhất khi so sánh với các học sinh khác trong trường.

Quy tắc biến đổi

• Tính từ ngắn (một âm tiết) → thêm đuôi -est

• Tính từ dài (hai âm tiết trở lên) → most + tính từ

• Tính từ bất quy tắc:

  • good → best

  • bad → worst

  • far → farthest / furthest

Cách dùng

Người học cần thêm mạo từ “the” trước các dạng so sánh nhất trong câu. 

Ví dụ: 

• This hotel is the cheapest in town. (Đây là khách sạn rẻ nhất trong thị trấn)

• He always teaches the most interesting lessons. (Anh ấy luôn dạy những bài học thú vị nhất.)

• Who is the best player of the team? (Ai là cầu thủ giỏi nhất trong đội?)
