Some people say that it is necessary to use animals for testing medicines intended for human use. Others, however, think it is cruel and unnecessary.

Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

It is believed that using animals for scientific testing purposes is an inhumane and cruel activity, while others suppose that doing experiments on animals is necessary. I will analyze both sides of the argument and express my personal opinion in the essay below.

There are two major reasons why people oppose the idea of using animals for medical experiments. First, medical experiments are inhumane and should be prohibited. Since the living environment of lab animals is completely artificial, it is evident that they are kept in captivity, being fed with hazardous substances only for experimentation purposes.In such a condition, they languish in pain , lethally poisoned without pain relief to examine the effectiveness of new treatment, suffer from extreme frustration, ache with loneliness and long to be free, which are all considered as heartless behaviors of humankind. Second, using animals in scientific research has not actually brought back many expected results, especially in helping to find out treatments for most of diseases. It it a fact that animals do not get the same diseases as humans, such as cancer, and AIDS in reality and the genetic structure of a human is much different from that of an animal. This is absolutely leading to the wrong results because scientists are unable to predict exactly the negative effects of new drugs on humans throughout testing them on animals.

Despite the above mentioned disadvantages,in my opinion, it is justifiable to do experiments on animals. In today’s contemporary society, lab animals play a crucial role in forming a well-secured life for human beings in the near future. Therefore, without the sacrifice of such animals, there would be nearly no means to discover breakthroughs that can improve the lives of people. It helps minimize the chances of biological reactions in humans, such as rash, itching, or, in the worst cases, death. For example, it took numerous efforts of trials and errors on animals before the Covid vaccines were officially used humans.As a result, although it is unacceptable that animal experiments are conducted to obtain scientific breakthroughs, their role is irrefutable as scientific inventions that ameliorate human society require sacrifice. Therefore, testing on animals is an ultimate solution and this inhumanity can be justified if human lives are saved.

In conclusion, although animal testing may be extremely cruel and inhumane , it still needs to be conducted thanks to the unique benefits its offers
