You should say:

Trong lúc lập dàn ý cũng như khi trả lời, thí sinh cần phân bổ thời gian hợp lý để tránh chỉ tập trung trả lời một đến hai câu hỏi và không đưa thông tin trả lời cho các câu hỏi còn lại.

You should say:

• Who this singer is? (Ca sĩ đó là ai? - Tên, thành viên band nhạc nào, quốc tịch…)

• What type of songs he/she sings? (Thể loại nhạc họ thường thể hiện?)

• What type of people listen to his/her songs? (Những nhóm người hay nghe nhạc của ca sĩ này là ai?)

• And explain Why he/she is your favorite singer? (Tại sao bạn lại thích ca sĩ này?)

Dàn ý bài Talk about your favorite singer

Thí sinh nên lựa chọn ca sĩ xuất hiện đầu tiên trong suy nghĩ khi nhận được đề bài này, tránh mất thời gian lựa chọn giữa ca sĩ có danh tiếng hay không.

Ở đề bài này, từ các câu hỏi nhỏ gợi ý, thí sinh có thể phát triển câu trả lời theo cấu trúc PPF (Past - Present - Future). Cấu trúc này giúp thí sinh vận dụng đa dạng các điểm ngữ pháp và có thể dễ dàng lập dàn ý hoàn chỉnh.

Dàn ý:

Mở đầu: I love listening to varying forms of music - up to situations and mood. 

• But my all time favorite singer is Taylor Swift.

Thân bài: Trả lời theo cấu trúc 4 câu hỏi gợi ý theo cue card 1:

1. What kind of music do they play? 

• She used to pursue country music 

• Now, she’s successful pop singer

2.  Where did you hear them for the first time? 

• I was in extra class randomly listening to US-UK Billboard

3. When did you hear them for the first time?

• It was 10 years ago

4. Why do you like their music? 

• She has sweet and amazing voice

• She has a flair for composing songs, most come from her own experiences

• You can listen to her music regardless of how you are (bored or happy, tired or energetic), it still brings some positive feeling to you .

Tuy nhiên thí sinh nên luyện tập cách lập dàn ý ngắn gọn, chỉ ghi lại từ khóa thay vì cả câu hoàn chỉnh vì thời gian chuẩn bị chỉ có một phút.

I love listening to different forms of music depending on the situations and my mood. But if I had to choose a singer to talk about, I would like to mention my all-time favorite singer Taylor Swift.

She's now renowned as a successful pop singer with many hit songs and albums. But she used to pursue a career in country music and she also earned the title “The princess of country music”.

I remember that I first came across her songs when I was in extra class randomly listening to the US- UK Billboard Hot 100, about 10 years ago. At that time, her song “Love story” catched my ears immediately due to its catchy melody and meaningful lyrics. Until now, I still set that song to my ringtone.

Taylor not only has a very sweet and amazing voice, which makes her a talented singer, but she also has a flair for composing songs. Most of her compositions come from her own life and experiences so they’re very inspiring, vivid and touching as if sometimes I think that she is telling my stories. You can listen to her songs regardless of how bored or happy, tired or energetic you are. They still mean something and bring a positive feeling to your mind.

That’s all I want to say about the topic.

There are so many talented artists nowadays that it isn’t an easy task to pick one of them as my favorite. But I’d like to talk about Sam Smith, a recent world’s phenomenon.

Sam Smith is a young English pop singer – songwriter who rose to fame back in 2012 with single “Latch”, which peaked at number 7 on US Billboard Hot 100 and that’s how I found out about him. Since then, he has released several other hit songs, one of which, “Stay with me” won him 4 Grammy Awards last month.

Most of Sam Smith’s songs are sad break-up songs which, according to him, tell about the story between him and his ex-boyfriend.

Besides the fact that Sam Smith is an extremely talented singer who has a great voice, I find his music very touching and inspirational. He’s a gay man and he’s not afraid to show who he is through his music. I think that’s the reason why his music is popular. He stays true to himself and inspires others to do the same.

Bryan Adams is my favorite singer and I like his songs very much. His full name is Bryan Guy Adams and he was born around 1959 in Canada. Besides his identity as a singer, he is also a producer, actor, activist and photographer.

He is a very successful and renowned singer around the world for the last three decades. Though rock music lovers mostly like his songs, a vast number of people whose first preference of music falls into other categories, also like him a lot. He is mainly a vocalist and song player but he can play a number of musical instruments including guitar, piano, bass guitar, harmonica and dobro. He is basically a rock singer and undoubtedly he is one of the best rock singers over a long time.

His music touches the hearts of millions of people around the world and though he is mainly a rock singer, he has fans of different ages and of different music choices. His vocal, musical performance and lyrics make him an enviable and admirable singer.

I like him mostly because of his distinguishable and remarkable vocals. He is the leader of rock songs of his time. The lyrics and music are extraordinary and whenever I listen to his songs, it gives me sensational feelings. Many of his songs have become parts of my life and memory. He is such a singer who can amuse me with most of his songs. Because of the rich lyrics and pleasant voice, he has become my most favorite singer.
