In general, in the year 2009, language course was recorded for the highest preference from attendants, whereas the sculpture was by far the least popular one among 4 surveyed categories. Additionally, the majority of people taking courses at this centre were aged 50 years or older, while the under-20 age group displayed a noticeably lower proportion than others.
In detail, classes at this centre were more attractive to women than men. In 2009, both figures for females attending language and drama courses were double those of males, with 40 women and 20 men for the former, and 20 females and 10 males for the latter. Similarly, to a smaller extent, there were 30 female members in the painting class, which was about 5 people higher than the number of males, in contrast to the sculpture class that was male-dominated, comprising almost 10 men and 5 women.
Turning to the pie chart, it can be seen that the senior age bracket occupied the largest portion of the total participant numbers, at 42 %, which was closely followed by figures for 2 middle age groups ( 40-49 years and 30-39 years old) with 26% and 16%, respectively. As for those who either were in their 20s or aged under 20, their corresponding percentages were merely 11% and 5%.
