Trong bài thi SAT, coefficient thường xuất hiện trong các câu hỏi về hàm số tuyến tính, hàm số bậc hai, và việc giải các phương trình đại số.

Coefficient trong hàm số tuyến tính
Trong phương trình y = 3x + 5, số 3 là coefficient (hệ số) của biến x, cho biết rằng y tăng 3 đơn vị khi x tăng 1 đơn vị.

Coefficient trong hàm số bậc hai
Trong phương trình f(x) = 2x² - 4x + 1, số 2 là coefficient (hệ số) của x², số -4 là coefficient (hệ số) của x, và số 1 là hằng số tự do.

Coefficient âm (negative slope)
Trong biểu thức -5x + 7, coefficient (hệ số) của x là -5, cho thấy mối quan hệ nghịch đảo giữa x và giá trị của biểu thức. Khi coefficient (hệ số) này là slope (độ dốc) của đường thẳng trong phương trình bậc nhất, giá trị âm làm cho đồ thị đi xuống từ trái sang phải.

Equation (noun): phương trình

Định nghĩa

Trong toán học, equation là một câu lệnh toán học thể hiện sự bằng nhau giữa hai biểu thức, được kết nối bởi dấu bằng (=). Phương trình thường chứa một hoặc nhiều biến số cần tìm giá trị để làm cho câu lệnh đúng.
