Bài mẫu chủ đề Describe an exciting activity that you experienced with someone else

One of the most exhilarating activities I ever experienced with someone else was skydiving with my best friend. It was an unforgettable adventure that left a deep impression on me.

We decided to go skydiving during our summer break last year. It was something we had both talked about for years but never got around to doing. Finally, we seized the opportunity and booked our jump at a renowned skydiving center located near the coast.

The day arrived, and as we suited up in our skydiving gear, we felt so excited and nervous. The anticipation built up as we boarded the small plane that would take us to dizzying heights. Sitting next to my friend, exchanging nervous laughs, helped calm my nerves.

As the plane ascended, my heart pounded against my chest. When the time came to leap from the aircraft, I felt a mixture of fear and exhilaration. Holding hands with my friend, we plunged into the open sky. The feeling of free-falling, with the wind rushing past us, was so incredible to us.

Looking back, I am immensely grateful for sharing such an electric experience with someone who means so much to me. Skydiving not only provided an adrenaline rush but also strengthened our friendship in ways I couldn't have imagined. It's a memory I will cherish for a lifetime.

IELTS Speaking Part 3 Sample

1. What kinds of activities do young people like to do?

I think the majority of young people today are drawn to a wide range of activities, but some of the most popular ones include outdoor adventures like hiking, camping, and rock climbing. Additionally, they enjoy participating in sports such as surfing or skateboarding. Many also engage in social activities like attending concerts, music festivals, and parties. Moreover, with the rise of technology, activities involving gaming, social media, and online streaming are also highly favored among young people.

  • be drawn to (verb phrase): /drɔːn tuː/: hấp dẫn, thu hút

  • highly favored (adjective phrase): /ˈhaɪli ˈfeɪvərd/: được ưa chuộng cao, được ưa thích cao

2. Why do some young people like adventurous activities?

There are several reasons why adventurous activities appeal to some young people. The first point is, they seek the thrill and excitement that comes with pushing their limits and stepping out of their comfort zones. Adventure activities provide an adrenaline rush and a sense of accomplishment, which can be addictive for some. On top of that, in a world dominated by technology and screens, adventurous activities offer a chance to connect with nature or real-life experiences.

  • appeal (verb) /əˈpiːl/: thu hút, hấp dẫn

  • an adrenaline rush (noun phrase) /əˈdrɛnəlɪn rʌʃ/: cảm giác hứng khởi, phấn khích do adrenaline

  • addictive (adjective) /əˈdɪktɪv/: gây nghiện

3. Do you think old people would like to have changes?

I would say that it varies among individuals, but generally, yes, older people can appreciate and even desire changes in their lives. While some may prefer routine and familiarity, many older individuals also seek new experiences and challenges to keep life interesting and fulfilling. Changes can bring about personal growth and excitement in life.

  • familiarity (noun) /fəˌmɪlɪˈærəti/: sự quen thuộc

  • fulfilling (adjective) /fʊlˈfɪlɪŋ/: thỏa mãn

4. Why can exciting activities relieve people’s stress?

I think that engaging in exciting activities such as skydiving, bungee jumping, or even simply trying out a new hobby can effectively relieve stress for several reasons. Firstly, these activities demand full focus and attention, diverting the mind from stressors and worries. Also, the adrenaline rush experienced during these activities triggers the release of endorphins, which are natural stress relievers, promoting a sense of well-being and happiness.

  • bungee jumping (noun phrase) /ˈbʌndʒiː ˈdʒʌmpɪŋ/: nhảy bungee

  • divert (verb) /dɪˈvɜːrt/: loại bỏ

  • endorphin (noun) /ˈɛndərˌfɪn/: endorphin (chất dẫn truyền thần kinh trong não giúp giảm đau và làm giảm căng thẳng, được sản xuất tự nhiên trong cơ thể)

  • well-being (noun) /ˌwɛlˈbiːɪŋ/: sự khỏe mạnh

5. What skills do people need to take part in adventurous activities?

From my perspective, participating in adventurous activities requires a combination of physical, mental, and sometimes technical skills. In most cases, people need physical fitness and strength to endure the physical demands of activities such as hiking, rock climbing, or surfing. Moreover, mental resilience and problem-solving skills are crucial for overcoming challenges and obstacles encountered during these activities.

  • resilience (noun) /rɪˈzɪliəns/: sự kiên cường, sự phục hồi

  • obstacle (noun) /ˈɒbstəkəl/: chướng ngại vật, trở ngại
