Coordinate (noun): tọa độ

Định nghĩa

Tọa độ là một cặp số (hoặc đôi khi là chữ cái) được dùng để xác định vị trí chính xác của một điểm trên một bản đồ, đồ thị, hay mặt phẳng tọa độ. Mỗi tọa độ cho biết khoảng cách của điểm đó so với một mốc chuẩn – thường là trục hoành (Ox) và trục tung (Oy).

Trên mặt phẳng hai chiều (2D), một tọa độ có dạng: (x, y)

• x: vị trí theo chiều ngang (trục hoành)

• y: vị trí theo chiều dọc (trục tung)

Trong toán học, tọa độ giúp học sinh biểu diễn các điểm trên mặt phẳng để vẽ hình học, đo khoảng cách, hoặc phân tích dữ liệu.

• Điểm A (3, 2): nằm 3 đơn vị sang phải và 2 đơn vị lên trên so với gốc tọa độ (0, 0).

• Điểm B (−1, −4): nằm 1 đơn vị sang trái và 4 đơn vị xuống dưới gốc tọa độ.

Trên bản đồ, nếu một kho báu nằm ở tọa độ (D, 5), người chơi cần đi đến cột D, hàng 5.

Trong địa lý, tọa độ (vĩ độ, kinh độ) giúp xác định chính xác vị trí trên trái đất.

Trong trò chơi chiến thuật, người chơi sử dụng tọa độ để xác định vị trí di chuyển hoặc tấn công.

Intercept (noun): giao điểm (với trục x hoặc y)

Định nghĩa

Trong toán học, giao điểm là điểm mà tại đó một đường thẳng hoặc đồ thị cắt trục tọa độ

Giao điểm cho ta thông tin về vị trí mà đồ thị “bắt đầu” hoặc “cắt” qua trục tọa độ, loại thông tin quan trọng trong việc hiểu và vẽ đồ thị hàm số.

Trong vật lý, đồ thị vận tốc-thời gian cắt trục tung cho biết vận tốc ban đầu.

Trong kinh tế, intercept giúp xác định giá khởi điểm hoặc chi phí cố định (fixed cost).

y-intercept (tọa độ tung độ gốc):
Là điểm mà đường thẳng cắt trục y, khi x=0.
Ví dụ: Trong phương trình y = 2x + 3, y-intercept là 3 (tọa độ: (0,3)).

x-intercept (tọa độ hoành độ gốc):
Là điểm mà đường thẳng cắt trục x, khi y=0.
Ví dụ: Với phương trình y = 2x + 3, x-intercept là x=−1.5 (tọa độ: (−1.5,0)).

Công thức

• x-intercept: có dạng (x, 0)
   → Đây là điểm mà y = 0, nghĩa là đường cắt trục x.

• y-intercept: có dạng (0, y)
   → Đây là điểm mà x = 0, nghĩa là đường cắt trục y.

Given: The coordinate plane is divided into four quadrants with the following labels: Quadrant I, Quadrant II, Quadrant III, and Quadrant IV. Starting from the origin, we begin at the upper-right corner and then move counterclockwise until we reach Quadrant IV.
