Bài mẫu

introduction + when it was + where you planned to travel to

Today, I'd like to share with you a trip to Đà Nẵng I was eagerly anticipating last summer, which unfortunately got postponed. This trip was special because it was supposed to be my first experience exploring the beautiful beaches of Vietnam. I had everything planned out, from snorkeling adventures to savoring the freshest seafood right by the ocean.

  • Eagerly anticipating (Mong đợi nồng nhiệt): Looking forward to something with great excitement and expectation.

  • Savoring the freshest seafood (Thưởng thức hải sản tươi ngon): Enjoying and taking pleasure in eating seafood that is extremely fresh.

why you were looking forward to it

The excitement was palpable as I had been researching and preparing for months. Imagine the crystal-clear waters, the soft sand between my toes, and the gentle sea breeze. It was all I could talk about. I was looking forward to breaking away from the daily grind, immersing myself in the natural beauty, and creating memories with my close friends who were supposed to join me.

  • Crystal-clear waters (Nước trong veo): Water that is so transparent and pure that everything beneath it can be seen clearly.

  • Gentle sea breeze (Gió biển nhẹ nhàng): A soft and pleasant wind that blows from the sea, often bringing a cooling effect.

  • Daily grind (Cuộc sống hàng ngày): The routine of everyday work or activities, especially when they are seen as monotonous or tiresome.

why it was delayed

However, as fate would have it, the trip was delayed due to the unexpected outbreak of COVID-19. Travel restrictions were swiftly put in place, flights got canceled, and lockdowns were enforced. It was a sudden and stark reminder of the unpredictable times we were living in.

  • As fate would have it (Như số phận đã định): A phrase used to express the idea that something happened because it was meant to happen, often by chance or destiny.

  • Travel restrictions (Hạn chế đi lại): Regulations or limitations imposed on movement, especially between different regions or countries, often for safety or health reasons.

and explain how you felt about the delay

Initially, the disappointment was overwhelming. I felt like a balloon rapidly deflating. All the anticipation and excitement vanished, replaced by a sense of loss for an experience I had so vividly imagined. Yet, as time passed, I gained perspective. I understood that health and safety were paramount, and the delay, though disheartening, was absolutely necessary.

  • Anticipation (Sự mong đợi): The act of looking forward to something with excitement and expectation.

  • Vanished (Biến mất): Disappeared from sight; gone, especially suddenly or unexpectedly.

  • Disheartening (Làm mất tinh thần): Causing a loss of hope, enthusiasm, or courage; discouraging.

conclusion

Looking back, I realize the delay taught me patience and adaptability. It was a lesson in accepting things beyond my control and finding joy in anticipation itself.

  • Adaptability (Khả năng thích nghi): The quality of being able to adjust to new conditions or environments, and the capability to modify oneself as needed to achieve success or maintain functionality in changing circumstances.

  • Beyond my control (Ngoài tầm kiểm soát của tôi): A situation or outcome that one cannot influence or alter, often due to external factors.

IELTS Speaking Part 3 Sample

1. What kinds of transportation are common in your country?

Câu trả lời mẫu:"In my country, you've got a whole smorgasbord of transportation options. Cars are everywhere, of course – they're like the bread and butter of getting around. Then, there are buses and trains, which are the go-tos for those daily commutes or longer jaunts across cities. For the more urban areas, subways and light rail are lifesavers, weaving through the city like threads in a tapestry. And let's not forget bikes and scooters, which have been making a big comeback, especially with all the focus on green living. It's quite the mix, really, catering to just about every need and preference.”

2. How would you say transport today is different to what it was a few decades ago?

Câu trả lời mẫu:"Oh, it's like night and day! A few decades back, the scene was dominated by fewer, bulkier cars, and public transport options were, well, less sophisticated. Fast forward to today, and it's all about variety and technology. Electric and hybrid cars are on the rise, aiming to put the brakes on pollution. Public transport's gotten a major upgrade too – it's more accessible, more efficient, and in many places, runs like clockwork. Plus, with the advent of ride-sharing apps, getting from A to B is literally at our fingertips. The whole landscape's evolved, making mobility smoother and more eco-friendly.”

Phân tích từ vựng:

  • Electric and hybrid cars: Vehicles powered by electricity or a combination of electricity and conventional fuels, which are considered more environmentally friendly than traditional gasoline or diesel cars.

Câu trả lời mẫu:"Looking ahead, I'd love to see a shift into an even greener gear. Think electric vehicles becoming the norm, with charging stations as common as gas stations are today. Public transport systems could use a boost too – more routes, more reliability, and why not throw in some self-driving buses or trains into the mix? 4. In general, would you say tourism is a positive or a negative development?

Câu trả lời mẫu:"Tourism, in my eyes, is a double-edged sword. On the bright side, it brings cultures together, opens our eyes to new experiences, and yes, it's a major economic booster, creating jobs and supporting local businesses. But, there's a flip side – it can strain resources, lead to overcrowding, and sometimes even harm the very attractions people come to see. So, I'd say tourism is positive when it's managed responsibly, respecting both the environment and local communities. It's all about finding that sweet spot where exploration and preservation go hand in hand.”
